Norman Cooper died at 7:15 a.m. when the airplane, a home-built Harmon Rocket, struck the ground nose first and exploded on impact, the staff reported. The incident occurred as he was flying over his family ranch land near Reward Road just south of Highway 58 as his family and friends were watching, the staff said."
