Hi John Rocket is getting really close, just finished wiring, things light up and the smoke stays in! Have to finish engine baffling and cowling, then its off to the hangar (CYBL - Campbell River B.C) to attach wings etc. Meantime I've been flying my -4 as much as weather allows up in the foggy Northwest. All the best Chris Fordham ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:16:56 AM PST US From: Hr2pilot@aol.com Subject: Re: Rocket-List: Harmon Rocket, LLC would love your feedback THANKS! you keep it ROCKin! ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 08:19:02 AM PST US From: Hr2pilot@aol.com Subject: Re: Rocket-List: Harmon Rocket, LLC would love your feedback YEP, its very serious. After rides with Gary Banducci and Ted Rutherford, I KNEW I'd made the right choice! I'm back at it after a 6-1/2 year building hiatus, hope to drill tank skins today. I'm looking forward to cutting the time it takes my 170 to go cross country in half! Have only flown in the backseat of two Rockets. The first was behind John Harmon himself and the second (& 100 or so subsequent) was behind Gummibear. The first ride was "free", the second one cost a little money, a lot of work, blood, sweat but no tears as Gummi convinced me that building a Rocket would be FUN. IT WAS. Spent about five years building and now six years flying. Gummi said that would be FUN too, IT IS. If money were no object we would have an F-4, T-28C & P-51D. But the HRII Rocket is the best & closest thing to those three and a whole lot cheaper to maintain, fly & hanger. IMNSHO (In My Not So Humble Opinion) the Rocket is the best buy & ya get more bang for your buck than with ANYTHING else. I wish I was as talented as the plane! Total time at 260 + hours, Home base up in the high Sierra Nevada mountains at O02 or Nervino Airport. The owner/builder is Robert Marshall, N999RM. We were over at Truckee during construction and test flying. All the people who have had a ride love this airplane. Even the old grizzled cats with so many hours in their log books that they can't pick them up, Red Rider puts a real smile on their face when they get a little stick time. Anyway I am running off at the mouth, the HRII is a great ship. Stop by and see us some time.
