Thanks Jim - appreciate it. I'll check them out, and look forward to
having the ability to get instruction in the machine :)

Airkit LLC has rear rudder pedals for sale. They are the same design as
mine and I think they are really good. They fold down out of the way
when not in use. For more information, contact AirkitLLC@yahoo.com or
you can call me at 317-718-3415. Jim Winings

Hi guys. As a long list time lurker from New Zealand...
I'm really keen on getting some rear rudder pedals in my Rocket, as my
main instructor won't fly with me without them. I apologise if this
question has been asked before - anyone know the simplest/easiest (but
robust) way to retrofit??? I saw a really nice set on a Rocket in a tiny
place in the Sierras, just north of Lake Tahoe, and got the gentleman's
contact details, but then stupidly mislaid them. I'll drop in next time
I'm fling around the US, unless anyone knows the name of the guy who
lives with his Rocket and pilot-wife in a tiny town northwest of Reno
by, I'm not sure, maybe 100 miles? I seem to recall he's very close to
Sierra Springs. He had a VERY elegant set of pedals, and I'd love to
copy them - or see if anyone here has any good
suggestions/diagrams/photos.
Also, Rocketeers, just repeating my invitation, made a couple of years
ago, to some of the coolest flying in the world, down here in New
Zealand. I live in Queenstown, which is a must-stop on any NZ vacation
anyway. I fly my Rocket off a little farm strip, but we are right next
to the Southern Alps, which means some stunning scenery. All Rocketeers
are welcome, should you ever be on vacation in NZ - we have a spare
room, an HRII, and....well what else couldja need? :)
I gather New Zealand's second Rocket has just been built. Our first
indigenous one, I guess. Mine came from Carl Wright in Camarillo, and is
a very well built aircraft. I've put 500 hours on it since then. And we
have another Rocket just being started in a small town in Southland,
called Gore. I talked to the builder, and it sounds like he may have run
into one or two of the people on this list on a recent reserach trip to
the US. He's a very nice guy - John Bowles, I think, is his name - and
is well worth helping out. He's already built an RV4, so this isn't his
first foray into homebuilding. I'm sure he'll build it well...

Yes, I know! I would have liked to have stopped at Bakersfield and
several other places but couldn't! Doh! We did stop for a burger at
the In-N-Out in Bakersfield. Yum. We need a few of those here!
Regrets,
Vince
