Again and again this seems to be a re-occurring nightmare. Here in Vernal,
Utah we had a very similar circumstance. The airport manager was hired
because he had a degree in communication. Along that line he also rode in a
C-206 as a boy scout and ascended to the level of flight attendant for
Delta. He was the type that probably wouldn't have give you the rest of the
coke or even an extra bag of peanuts. After several run-ins with his batch
of new policies (much supported by overzealous FAA officials, we formed an
airport users association. This initially was formed to combat unlawful
raids on private hangars conducted by said a/p manager and county law
enforcement.
When the a/p manager by his negligence failed to remove snow adequately and
kept pressing unimportant issues we finally levered the county to help him
move on.
Strength in numbers!
