Was it the one inside the fuselage at the top of the spring rod or the ones nearest the tailwheel. You should have 2 bolts down there. I have a tapered pin inside the fuselage on mine. As far as I know, it's in good shape... but it sure would be tough to inspect. My HR2 has an API tailwheel and after 300 hours they still look fine. My driveway is "rougher than a stucco bathtub" and my turf strip not much better. Redundancy my brother! Not only do I not like the looks of the thing but it lays on the inside of the cowl and has to deform a bit to do that, it also is wearing where the cuff slides over the Y-valve. I am using John's intake Y valve and the angle of the filter side may not be quite right. Has anyone had this problem and or have a solution? Perhaps going to a K&N filter will do it, any model numbers would help my search for a solution. I used a conical K&N filter that had a bit of an offset in the attach flange. Part # RB 091. It did touch the starter and I put a big gob of RTV at the point of contact. It also tended to touch the cowling but never seemed to cause and damage. I do not see any reason why you could not squeeze a bit to get more clearance. It is a nice simple system. NOT the tailspring to the fuse bolt! Sorry for the miscommunication. I have some pix on my cell phone, but need to get an 8th grader to show me how to get them into my computor!!
