Subject: | 2 blade prop re-clocking report |
Had some recent breaks in the weather so I was able to do some flight tests.
I changed the clocking of my 2 blade Hartzell from the 1-7 position to 3-9
position using methods and materials outlined by Mike Stewart in prior
posts. My engine is a stock 250 HP IO540C4B5 with one EI and one mag.I did not
have
access to a vibration analyzer so I dont have any real scientific data to
report, but I am happy to announce that I am very pleased with the results, I
had
a very noticable harmonic that shook the whole airframe, and now most of it
is gone. It is a whole different airplane and a real joy to fly. I would say
that Mike's numbers are pretty much right on in relation to before and after
vibration amplitude.
It was not a difficult task in my opinion, I built a fixture out of 2 X 12's
to clamp the prop in the drill press, then took it to the prop shop and had
them re-install the studs with new locktite and roll pins while they checked
out the pitch angles and static balance. I would recommend
this mod to anybody having similar vibration problems.

Does anybody have any pictures or drawings on how they ran the Electric
wires from
the electric Elevator Trim Servo Motor to the fuselage ?? Looking for some
good ideas.
