EAA Chapter 288 had a nice presentation last month on a turboprop that
weighs 50# without gearbox and prop and puts out 242HP. It is a great
looking engine. Cost - $90K with gearbox.

Do you happen to have a name or POC for the turbine presentation at Chapter 288?
Although out of my price range right now, I'd like to keep up with what they

All the calculations I've done indicated that fuel consumption is the
problem - or more specifically how much fuel you can carry. That's what
Inodyn (now defunct) were trying to figure out with their computerized fuel
management system.
Below 300 HP, internal combustion is hard to "out-compromise".
Having said that the RR300 they're putting in the Robinson R66, looks real
interesting. Now if you've got unlimited funds, that might be a project ...
