Subject: Rocket pilots informal meeting at Oshkosh 2012
    From: Vince Frazier <vincefrazier@gmail.com>
    >From the other forum: Inviting ALL Rocket pilots and other interested persons for a loosely organized, meet and greet, and informal discussion of Rocket issues. Let's meet at the Homebuilt Cafe at 10AM Tuesday morning. If the Homebuilt Cafe is full, or if they kick us out, we can easily either go sit in the shade at Paul's Woods, or walk a bit farther to meet in the Theater in the Woods. That should put us in, more or less, one easy to find spot. I'll bring a small sign to indicate our group for those who aren't familiar with many of us. Otherwise, look for obnoxious, swaggering pilots, or guys in Flyboy Accessories t-shirts. I propose that we (loosely) follow this agenda: 1. Safety issues, past present and future. (NTSB reports for RV's and Rockets). The floor will be open for safety discussions related to a) flying b) maintenance and c) building issues I hope that Doug Rozendal will have a few minutes to speak on these topics. 2. Builder comments. I'd like to hear what problems are occurring as the hours build on our machines. 3. Group insurance potential. RV group rates for Rockets (AUA Insurance quotes). I have been trying to find reasonable quotes. 4. Rocket gathering 2013 (where and when?) 5) schedule a follow-up evening meeting for continued conversation over adult beverages, possibly Wednesday evening. Tuesday is the Van's banquet, so it is out. Obviously, insurance and safety go hand in hand and should be a priority to all Rocketeers since it also goes hand in hand with resale value of our birds. I will gladly moderate the discussion, although I know from past experience that herding cats is easier. I will also happily turn over the meeting to anyone who has more experience as a cat herder. If anyone with more industry knowledge would like to step up and volunteer to coordinate the insurance group buy, I'd be very pleased. Also, does anyone know if John Anderson is planning an evening get together this year? Please RSVP to vincefrazier@gmail.com or to this thread. It would be good to have a rough head count. Feel free to dial 812-449-0230 during the show. __________________ Vince Frazier www.flyboyaccessories.com RV and Rocket Accessories, Tailwheels, Tools, & More 1-888-8FLYBOY (1-888-835-9269) Thanks, Vince Frazier Flyboy Accessories 3963 Caborn Road North Mount Vernon, IN 47620 812-464-1839 1-888-8FLYBOY 1-888-835-9269 www.flyboyaccessories.com
