The "Datum" is 80.0 inches forward of the wing leading edge. Source of the information is John Harmon at harmonrocket@aol.com . Hope that helps. Feel free to email me at viperplt@comcast.net if you have any further questions. My research has shown that the RV-4 wing uses 15-30 percent MAC which is 88.7 to 97.4 inches aft of datum. I've seen the 86.7 and 87.7 forward limit in some F1 cases (larger tail), but this is quite an outlier. Virtually all loading cases can fit within the 88.7 limit (155 lb pilot, zero fuel is at the limit in my case). Note that fuel moment arm is AFT of the forward limit, so the C of G moves forward as fuel is burned in this scenario! The only traceable engineering source is the RV-4 manual and I'm happy with the choice off 88.7 for the forward limit. Everyone agrees on the aft limit! Thanks again for the feedback, Vern -----Original Message----- From: viperpilot Sent: Sunday, June 23, 2013 9:05 AM Subject: Rocket-List: Re: C of G range The latest information I have is a CG range of 86.7 inches to 97.4 inches aft of the "Datum".
