Gday Jay!
My HR2 had the exact same setup. I removed the spring and sawed off the 90 d
egree bend. Then, using a lathe turned the end until the taper was removed a
nd would slide into an API tailwheel. I like the API tailwheel personally bu
t Vince"s Fly boy TW is equally "Sierra Hotel".
I did purchase my tail wheel from Vince as its light and has a neat hubcap I
polished for the "retro" look. I also purchased the dual stainless steel ad
justable springs from Vans instead of the single Rod "rocket link" as my rou
gh turf strip made short work of it. Here are links to all three products:
