Hi SJA and gang, is your trouble starting the 912 a "cranking issue" or a "not starting "issue? One thing I was going to through out is that the manual says that the throttle must be at "idle position for the "cold starting sequence" to be activated. (something to do with the carburetors)? From: "SJA" --> RotaxEngines-List message posted by: "SJA" Thanks for the replys. The battery I have is a motorcycle battery: has 300 cca @ 70 degrees, but that goes south of course at colder temps. It's an "Extreme" brand. The battery box is small (3.5x 6.0 x 7.0H) ROtax manual says at least 16ah, this battery is 18ah The battery is new in Dec. I know the ignition takes a lot of juice to spin (I dont have the HD starter) and that the engine has to go to 300rpm to start. When I try to start it, voltmeter says `13.9 or so. After the first or second crank, it drops to 10.5. And then we're done. This week Im going to jump the battery and see what happens. Any further suggestions about brand of battery? Im looking at the Odyssey 680. Thanks.
