as to what adjustments is necessary?
Buy a primer pump. If I don't use the primer, it will take forever to start when
cold. If I give it 3 pumps, the engine starts on the first pull. Make sure
to have the enricher circuit open as well. When it's really warm outside or
the engine has run in the last hour, I can modify the startup procedure.

thanks guys. I'll try the closed throttle. And if that doesn't work well then
I'll look into the primer pump.
It never occured to me to consider the the lack of oil in starting fluid.
