I've achieved success with these by lapping the ball joint pairs with valve
grinding paste. Still need the copper slip though.
Unfortunately I then had some additional spring hooks welded on and the
welder managed to irrecoverably distort them (in a vice, rather than
weld-distortion).

I know of several people that have gone through multiple failures of Harley
regulators in production bikes. I'd not put one in my plane!

I have a supply of Kendall GT1, a 2-cycle ashless dispersant/detergent oil
that meets NMMA TC-W, W3, WII standards. Is this an acceptable oil for use
in my Rotax 503?
