Subject: | Rotax 377 and 477 use same points and ignition? |
Hello,
I have a Rotax 477 motor, and noticed some 377 ignition parts for sale, would they
work with the 477? I appreciate any and all advice.

If you have a California Power Systems book look up the part numbers and see
if they match if you dont have one let me know and tomorrow when I get in
the shop I will look up the part numbers for you to see if they match

Thanks, Ellery! I do not have a California Power Systems book. I should also
say that I have the Rotax 447, not 477 as previously stated.
Regards,
Kent

Kent
according to my CPS book the part numbers for the contact points set is
Soldered part number is 983-349
Threaded part number is 983-343
these points will fit all engines 277,377,447,503
Good luck and I hope this helps you

Kent
one more note the early engines prior to 1984 has the soldered wire on
the condensers (early) or secured by threaded post (late production)
