    Subject: Why should not use translucent fuel containers?

    I was skimming through the latest Rotax 914 Line and Heavy manuals and noticed that they state to not transport fuel in translucent fuel containers. Curious, especial since Europa has translucent fuel tank. Ron Parigoris

    Subject: Why should not use translucent fuel containers?
    This is apparently to keep one or more of the constituents from being degraded from exposure to sunlight. It is not to say that there is something wrong with fuel being in contact with the translucent container. Once installed, the Europa tank should be well protected from sunlight by the cockpit module and fuselage. Ergo, moot point.
