A fuselink between SW1-4 (which powers the Alternator controller coil) and the Alternator controller was blown. It likely shorting out during construction because it isn't shorting now. After spending 9-hours trying to track-down the problem I have a concern about using fuselinks. Unlike a fuse, you can't see that a fuselink has blown. Had I used a fuse rather than a fuselink I would have found the problem in minutes! Since my fuse holder is right next to this fuselink and I won't expose the circuit to extra lengths of non-fused wire, I plan to replace the fuselink with a 1-AMP ATC (bayonet type) fuse on my main buss. Has anyone actually installed a coolant temp probe? If so, did you choose a hole in the expansion tank or a tee into the line to the radiator from the tank. I have not seen anyone offer a standard solution for us poor homebuilders! -------- Ira N224XS Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=157089#157089 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 05:34:06 PM PST US From: george may Subject: RE: RotaxEngines-List: Re: Evans Coolant and SB-912-043-R2 Ira-- I installed a temp guage on my 912s. Installed a "T" near the expansion tank for the probe. I'm seeing about 165 degrees F. I'm running a 50/50 mix.
