Temperature sensor resistance graphs are also in the Rotax 912 Heavy Maintenance
Manual.

Are any of y'all getting any posts from the Rotax Owners site? I have signed up
because I have just received my 912 uls and want to keep up. Perhaps there have
been no posts recently.

Jim,
The data for resistance versus temperature is available at
www.sso-usa.com
You'll have to look thru the website to find it. You will also find a chart that
lists the number stamped on the sensor and gives the part number, its temp
range and threads.
912 & 914 come with VDO 300 deg sensors.
300 deg sensors vary from 322 to 18 ohms. 120 deg F is 322 ohms. 200 deg F is
76 ohms and 220 deg is is 57 ohms. Measure what the resistance is at room temp
- should be 322 or more. Put the sensor in boiling water - should be between
57 & 76, close to 65 ohms.

I have had two Rotax engines registered on the Rotax Owners site for
about five years. I can count on one finger how many notices I have
gotten from them. It is up to me to periodically check their website
for manditory bulletins. I have been very dissappointed in the support
I have gotten from Rotax and thus none of my new aircrafts have Rotax
engines. When I do find a bulletin it is very sketchy, doesnt tell you
how to do the fix and it sounds like a broken record to take it to a
qualified Rotax personal to do the fix. In summary, worthless customer
support with bulletins and worthless support.
