Great Stuff Guy,
Were the bolts too long? The other clue I should have twigged to was the
torque difference between loose and too tight was too few turns, indicating
I was tightening on something with no give., ie the end of bolt threads.
Live and learn.
Thanks for letting me know! You made my day.
Regards
Geoff Bell

I have problem with spring wear on the exhaust on my S-7. I have worn through
three springs and the stainless steel spring tabs on the manifold are starting
to get a groove in them. Anybody know of any fixes for this?
Thanks all.
Rich

Did you apply the two heavy beads of high-temperature RTV all along
the length of the springs? This helps a lot with damping the vibration.

Somewhere I miss what the average operating water (coolant) temp is on the
912/914. Yes, the manual and things I read gives lowest start temp, hot sta
rt temp and max temp. But I would really like an average. 180f, 190f, 200f
??? Or would just say 180f to 220f is a good number to keep it in?
