I used Dextron 3 as the oil inside the tubes. Very accurate and highly visible when its all happening!. regards Geoff Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=193313#193313 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 02:54:11 AM PST US Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Re: Strategies for car gas at the airport From: "Gtblu" I have witnessed the Lexan/fuel (avgas) mix first hand. The effect was instant, with the windscreen cracking and weakening. it was a tiny amount, hot day, bingo! It could be duct taped to take it home, but was a nervous trip. I don't really know how to avoid it. May be a sheet of plastic to cover the winscreeen? I think vigilance is the key, but it was a tiny amount that caused the problem. A few drips can stain Lexan permanently. regards Geoff Bell Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=193314#193314 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 07:35:33 AM PST US Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Re: Carb sync tools From: "ricklach" Hi Geoff, Thanks for the clarity. I like the idea, I'll give it a try. I was wondering the same thing and have not seen a reply. I dug up the info from installation manual section 11. Normal temp 1650F degrees and Max of 1740F with probes placed about 4" down stream.=0A-=0AGeorge=0A=0A=0A----- Original Message ----=0AFrom: darinh =0ATo: rotaxeng ines-list@matronics.com=0ASent: Sunday, July 13, 2008 11:02:18 PM=0ASubject : RotaxEngines-List: Max EGT Temps for 914?=0A=0A--> RotaxEngines-List mess age posted by: "darinh" =0A=0AI cannot find anywere i n the manuals where it states the max EGT temp for the 914.- Can anyone l et me know what they are or what they have experienced?- My sensors are m ounted in the factory set locations in the exhaust manifolds.- I was doin g some taxi testing today and I saw EGT's as high as 1530 at an rpm of 4500 or so.=0A=0A--------=0ADarin Hawkes=0ASeries 7 (Done - Waiting on Airworth iness)=0A914 Turbo=0AKaysville, Utah=0A=0A=0A=0A=0ARead this topic online h ere:=0A=0Ahttp://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=192602#192602=0A=0A ============ ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 12:21:41 PM PST US From: "Hoffmann D- Remscheid" Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Rotax 912 fuel injection Hello listers, With rising fuel prices everybody talks about injection engines, especially for the 91x engines. There are interesting features e.g. on www:experimentalinjection.com. However the size of the resulting engine is such that it might not fit under a standard LSA cowling. Throttle bodies and engine control computers are not difficult to obtain as they can be adapted from the automobile or motorcycle world. For me the critical point to start would however be to find suitable elbows to be flanged to the cylinder intakes to produce the intake manifold. Is anybody out there how knows whether a standard elbow of another engine would fit? Maybe even Rotax themselves might have such an elbow used for another engine (snowmobile, quad or whatsoever) for taking benefit of standardisation, but they might not tell. Milling a flange and welding an exactly bent aluminium tube to it would be the second best way if you can get the whole thing as a series spare part J I would like to add a common plenum and individual injectors to all four cylinders with a common throttle body. Any ideas?
