Finally tightened all the hose clamps and problem was solved. No sign of a leak on the ground, but that was what was wrong in this case. Worth a try if you have't gone there already regards Geoff Bell Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 5665#205665 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:05:59 AM PST US Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Re: Use of Honda HP4M Oil in 912 UL From: "rampil" Keep in mind that Rotax will simply not provide guidance on Honda products, good bad or otherwise since the are a competitor in motor and related products. Honda oil might be fine, but you will use it at your own risk -------- Ira N224XS Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 5691#205691 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 07:50:26 AM PST US Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Re: While we're on the subject of oil... From: "icrashrc" I'll pick up some Alcor or Decalin Runup Fuel Additive to help clean out the top end. I was hoping there was a similar product to add to the crankcase oil. I don't know what to do about the bottom end except use semi synthetic oil and change it every ten hours or so the first few times. One guy has told me that I need to replace it now and another guy has told me that it has lots of time left on it and that I'll know when I need to replace it. But I'm new to this and I don't know. It's not the best picture because it was getting dark on me when I took it tonight. What do you guys think? I've got the replacement carb sockets, so perhaps I should just go ahead and change them. I bought the plane when it had about 25 hours on the engine and now it is at 50 hours. I don't know if they put new carb sockets on with the new engine, so I don't know how long it's been on there. The front carb socket doesn't have cracks like the back one. If I change them out should I just go ahead and change both at the same time or wait on the front one until it gets cracks in it? BTW I have a Rotax 503 DCSI. -------- Cristal Waters Mark II Twinstar Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 5867#205867 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/dscf0016_205.jpg http://forums.matronics.com//files/dscf0015_367.jpg ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 08:03:13 PM PST US From: william sullivan Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Rotax List Re: carb socket replacement - Cristal- Change them.- Cracks only get worse, and you can't visually tell how much time you have left.- Same thing goes for tires, hoses, etc. - It,s called "checking", or dry rot.- I think ozone does it. - The Lockwood book should give the change schedule for it. - ------------------------- ----------------------- Bill Sullivan ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message rotaxengines-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/RotaxEngines-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/rotaxengines-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/rotaxengines-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
