My Rotax 912ULS prefers 91 octane mogas and I have found several airports along my route that sell 91 mogas. If the winds are favorable there and back (fat chance!) I would be able to make it with two fuel stops, but I would like several alternatives. I can purchase 91 mogas near Chicago at Cushing Field (0C8) and near Minneapolis at Stanton Airfield (KSYN). I would like to add a fuel stop between Columbus (KOSU) and Cushing and one between Cushing and KSYN. Any of you Rotax flyers in those areas know of a field with 91 mogas? Have you (or any other listers) ever tried http://www.fltplan.com/? It generates a flight plan for you automatically, including winds aloft for the time you plan to travel, fuel burn and time enroute at different altitudes, and many other features. It has fuel availability at FBOs on the route but I have never seen mogas and I don't think they would list it even if it were available, the service is mostly for professional pilots. And did I mention it's free?
