With the engine warmed up and idling and the screw set to factory specs turn the screw out very slowly - the engine should start to pick up rpm as you lean the mixture out. If nothing happens the low speed jet is probably plugged, or the small atomizer hole located in the throat of the carb on the engine side is blocked. > Once you have the engine idling at its highest and leanest setting using the air screw turn the screw back in 1/8 of a turn which will richen it up just enough for the best performance. > Note it is usually necessary to do this three or four times a year, do to the difference in air that you get in spring/summer/fall/winter. Ok, maybe that was a stupid question? How about this...do you adjust the air screw every season as suggested? If so, what's your procedure? -------- Cristal Waters Kolb Mark II Twinstar Rotax 503 DCSI Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 9298#209298 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 01:51:32 PM PST US Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Fuel Additive for 100LL From: "Dale Orth" I've heard both sides of the argument for premium auto fuel or 100LL. KitFox will tell you they use 100LL with Decalin or TCP and change oil every 20-25 hrs. Where I live premium auto fuel now has 10% Ethanol which some say will destroy parts of your fuel system. Since you're not sure of the quality of auto fuel doesn't it make sense to go with 100LL with decalin and frequent oil changes using a semi-synthetic oil like Aeroshell Plus 4. Has anyone out there actually disassembled a Rotax 912 and seen the results of auto fuel or 100LL?? -------- Dale KitFox 7 Las Vegas, Nv daleorth@embarqmail.com Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p 9299#209299 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 02:24:58 PM PST US From: "Craig Payne" Subject: RE: RotaxEngines-List: Fuel Additive for 100LL At Oshkosh in a Rotax seminar Phil Lockwood said that if you burn 100LL just use the right oil, change it every 25 hours and run the engine hard (full power) reasonably often and you won't have a problem. As I recall he didn't have any experience or advice on the additives. -- Craig -----Original Message----- From: owner-rotaxengines-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-rotaxengines-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Dale Orth Sent: Saturday, October 18, 2008 2:51 PM Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Fuel Additive for 100LL I've heard both sides of the argument for premium auto fuel or 100LL.
