Subject: | Free Wheeling Prop |
I hand propped my 912 today and it turned over like their was no compression. I
tried to start the Engine and it turned over like all the plugs were missing.
Five minutes later I had compression and it ran fine. What's the deal??? Does
it have something to do with the slipper clutch???
Could this happen when I'm flying??? I sure could use some help here.
Thanks
Dale

I'm not sure Dale but how long was it stool prior to you propping it ?
I'm thinking if it is a late model perhaps the hydraulics to the valves
had lost pressure.

I agree the Pure One is a really good filter. Available at Advanced auto Parts.

Pepboys also has them. As often as we change oil filters (50 hours for 91 octane
and 25 hours for 100LL) the Pure One, Fram, Mobile One and the Rotax are all
good filters. I just believe for the money Pure One is a stand out. Remember
we pay for the Euro exchange, shipping rates and middle men to get a Rotax filter.
Hence the $20+ price tag.
In this case the extra $15 per filter does not equate to better. If you fly an
SLSA then you must use a Rotax filter unless your plane's Mfg. says you can use
something else.
