Engine sat in a humid hanger ? Hey K Dilks, This Quicksilver belong to a guy that fly it almost every weekend. The hangar is not humid but here in Central America the weather is almost 100% humidity Since this country is like inside a Rainforest BUT on the club there are like five Quicks with 582 with more hours and they have not fail this way. I hope this next weekend I will open the crank case and I will check for that color on the rod and will take pics. Thx for your time and help, Isaac Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=253247#253247

Hey k Dilks, Just curious, on Sea-Doo/Ski-Doo Rotax engines many people use remanufactured cranks that are welded with no problem. Does Sea-Doo engines do like 9,000 RPM or maybe more and they have no issues. The only thing thats come to my mind why they can fail is bad assembly, out of balance and not running true that you need to check with a dial indicator................... I know that since we are in the Air is better to have a 100% good and reliable engine but man does 582 crankshaft are super expensive!
