Hi Tracy
On my 914 i dont use the fuel pumps when hot, about 1/4 throttle and she picks
up easily,I then wait until she falters through lack of fuel before hitting the
pump switch, leaving the oil/water filler doors open for a short while on the
ground improves the starting also,
regards
Ivor

The fact that you get better results with the fuel pump off coupled with opening
the throttle implies that the engine is slightly flooded on a hot start. My
guess would be that the carbs are getting hot enough to push the fuel from the
floatbowls into the intake manifold after shutdown. Do you have the Rotax carb
driptrays installed? These help block the heat from the exhaust on the 912 series
and I assume [there's THAT word'] that the 914 is a similar layout concerning
the exhaust/floatbowl layout.
Have you tried turning the fuel valve to OFF a minute or so before shutdown?
