My guess would be that the carbs are getting hot enough to push the fuel from the floatbowls into the intake manifold after shutdown. Do you have the Rotax carb driptrays installed? These help block the heat from the exhaust on the 912 series and I assume [there's THAT word'] that the 914 is a similar layout concerning the exhaust/floatbowl layout. Have you tried turning the fuel valve to OFF a minute or so before shutdown? pbuttles(at)charter.net wrote: > I have been having a problem with hot starts in a 914 in a 701 > will start fine cold run it for a while and and shut down ,fuel up or eat ,whatever and go to start it it will just not catch > tried different throttle positions and seem to get better results with more throttle > have tried not using fuel pump to start and seems better > anyone else had that problem with 914 or 912 > im at denver and wondering if alltitude contributes? > > Tracy -------- Scott www.ill-EagleAviation.com do not archive Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=254453#254453 ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 05:28:58 AM PST US From: Tracy Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Re: 914 hot starts thanks for the info guys pertty much what I have been thinking and doing to start it Tracy ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message rotaxengines-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/RotaxEngines-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/rotaxengines-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/rotaxengines-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
