Dear Listers, As of today, contributions to the Matronics List Fund Raiser are lagging behind last year at this time by 21%. I have a fund raiser each year simply to cover my operating costs for the Lists. I *do not* accept any advertising income to support the Lists and rely solely on the contributions of members to keep the expenses paid. I run all of my own servers and they are housed here locally, and the Internet connection is a commercial-grade, T1 connection with public address space. I also maintain a full backup system that does nightly backups of all List-related data so that in the event of a server crash or worse, all of the Lists and the many years of List archive data could be restored onto a new server in a matter of hours. All of this costs a fair amount of money, not to mention a significant amount of my personal time as well. I have a Fund Raiser each year to cover these costs and I ask that members that feel they receive a benefit from my investments, make a modest contribution each year to support the continued operation and upgrade of these services. If you enjoy the Lists, please make a contribution today. I also offer some incentive gifts for larger contribution levels. At the Contribution Web Wite, you can use a credit card, Paypal, or personal check to show your support for the continuation of these services: http://www.matronics.com/contribution Thank you for your support! (Don't find any.) 2) What is the reliability of Rotax Aircraft Engines ?? Weak areas ??? 3) Can a Private Pilot or better fly a S-LSA at night or IFR (assume plane is so equipped) with NO current FAA medical ??? 4) If one buys a completed (put together) E-LSA or completed (put together) Experimental - Amateur Built LSA can it be modified for night or IFR use AND still maintain it's original Airworthiness Cert ??? Possibly looking to buy a Sky Arrow 600 (S-LSA) or Sky Arrow 650 or Partner with someone or build one. Have tools to build (as built part of a Vans RV-8A) before ran out of room in my garage. Anybody in the West Los Angeles Area or Santa Monica (Calif) owns a S-LSA or building a E-LSA or Experimental - Amateur Built LSA ?? Be cautous here this is a delicate part. Its threaded in with a very fine thread. The tap for this is very hard to find.I went through this with my plane. When I removed the fitting and tried to screw the replacement in it seized and would not screw in or out. After soaking it heating it etc. I finally unscrewed it and stripped the threads off of the tube part.I then tapped the punp outlet and succesfully replaced the tube. These are beautiful engines but too much like jewelry in some ways. Used engine! I have a leak from the water pump at the fitting that then attaches to the hose that goes to the head. I resolved all the little issues of installation but found this little moisture at that fitting. After playing with it for awhile it began to freely move and leaked even more. I understand it is epoxied in place. But, I am unable to remove it from the water pump.. I have a lot of ideas but I sure I will pay for them in the end. Note; the pump has not been removed yet.
