Watch the animation, it magically comes to a stop in mid air, rotates to vertical and descends. Personally, I think they didn't name it after the bird, but rather for what they were doing when they dreamed up this fantasy. I have and Allegro 2000 with a Rotax 912UL engine (300 hours). The four engine mount bolts on my plane were torqued and safety wired when I mounted the engine. The safety wire is still in place and there are no signs that the bolts have loosened. Do you feel that I should cut the safety wire and check the torque, then re-safety wire? If they are not safety wired for any of the other guys who read this and have that type of engine ring mount they should be torque checked every 100 hrs or annual which ever comes first. These do come loose and I have found many that are 1-4 turns loose and this will let the engine sag and move around under different throttle settings. If you get at least 3 bolts loose you can pick up the plane out by the prop and the engine will wiggle. This situation will start to trash the threads in the bolt holes. -------- Roger Lee Tucson, Az.
