I'm not sure how to feel about this, it's always nice when stuff is free.
The truth is that Rotax-owner.com is not actually BRP-Rotax. They are a
separate company. All the information that you may wish or want is still
available from the original source at http://www.rotax-aircraft-engines.com/
and can be downloaded without charge.
The clear separation of Rotax and the owner website is the endorsement of
the bullyhawk system. Rotax itself would never endorse a third party product
IMO.
Rotax-owner.com is creating some premium material with the videos and
notification and such and there is a cost associated with providing it.
It's up to the individual whether the premium material is worth the price, I
may give it a shot and see what they offer. At this time I can download all
the SB, SD, and factory documents from their site still and I am not even
registered let alone subscribed.

Well Ira, if you read that Kodiak doesn't deal in certified engines recently, then
your information is likely more up to date than mine.
I would suspect that Rotech being the sole provider in North America for certified
engines might be due to Diamond being the biggest user of certified Rotaxes.
And since they are a Canadian company...
As for having the Rotax Owner videos available for free, that was pretty cool.
I imagine that the guys who were selling videos were none too impressed that
Rotec was giving them away for free. It figures though, just when I'm starting
to set my engine up for first run, they make the videos a pay service. I'll
probably end up buying one of the Lockwood or CPS videos (maybe both) to add
to my collection.
One thing's for sure, Rotax Owner has stirred up lots of debate.

Hi Doug,
Looks like we all waited too long to download the ones we want :(
There are snippets of the ASA/Lockwood video on Youtube if you
want to see what their style is. Personally, I have known the Sebring
group for more than 5 years. Phil himself diagnosed a carb problem
I had on first flight that no one else was able to. I took the Line class
with Dean when he was just starting out.
These guys work hard for your business and I send them mine as
much as I can.

Hi George,
Replace the seal and gasket. Seal 850-945 and gasket 850-981. If a Rotax sits for
a long time "O" rings and seals are much more likely to leak. It is better
for an engine to be started and run up to temp now and then than let it sit.
