I am having a problem opening the above document from the Rotax Engines
.com site. Everything works fine until I actually click on the .pdf file
number. At that point nothing happens. It acts like it is a bad link.
Help would be appreciated.

Subject: | 912 exhaust nuts |
I lost one of the 8 nuts on my exhaust pipes.
Can anyone tell me the size of that nut (metric? SAE?) and a source for the nuts?
Thanks,

I agree with Roger and the insight he gave me about replacing this seal..
-My motor has-sat around awhile during the building process, during-t
he first through third start of older motor that had most items were replac
ed except the water pump seal (not for the weak of heart to replace). Three
weeks-of sitting around after-last run-up produced-a drop of water
from the weep hole and then water began to appeared daily at the water pum
p.-After talking with two Rotax facilities they said that it was OK! Star
t it run it and recheck for leakage that is permissible. Whats permissible
a couple of drops per day when cold and not in use ?????? Go figure, I prob
able did not need to replace the seal if I could accept a small leakage. I
removed the seal from the front side (at the water pump) without removing f
rom the airframe-and yes I made small disposable tools and spent two days
carefully removing /destroying the old seal. The seal is unlike any
normal-seal you will encounter. I will stop here and say you do not need
impeller tool rmoval tool ( heat gun and vise grips will do) but you need
the install tool of $74.00. Seal is $88.00 and water pump gasket $12.00. Go
d help you if you need to remove everything according to the Rotax Manual $

Hi Tommy,
It is an M8 locknut. It is a different type of locknut and meant for those high
temps. I don't know where locally you might pick one up. Best bet is CPS, Lockwood
or leading edge.

Hugh,
Try this link: http://www.rotaxflyingclub.com/technical_information/rotaxdocuments.htm
I just downloaded the 912 Line Maintenance Manual from there.
If you still have trouble, let me know and I'll put it on the Rotax Owners site
and you can pick it up there.
