I have used LL in my 912 occasionally, while running full synthetic. The engine will be fine if you just use one tank, and I also used a lead scavenger. I would change the oil sooner, and when you do, remove the oil sump and clean it out. You will see all kinds of gunk in the bottom. I switched to a semi-synthetic so I don't have to worry about the occasional dose of LL. It does gum everything up. You'll see it on the spark plugs too. Jack

Ross, I have the same situation with fuel as you. On long trips I'm forced to use LL, but have found that if you change the oil within five hours of refilling with hitest mogas when you get back there is no buildup of sludge at all. 1993 912U in a 601HDS. Flown from Toronto to Oshkosh and Sun-n-Fun that way. Dave Austin

I have read in the past you shouldn't run a 91X without a prop. Why exactly is that? Here's a guy running a 914 without a prop, seems at low idle without flywheel effect it isn't quite as happy as with a prop, but just a little higher it seems pretty happy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uksKDll6n7M Ron Parigoris Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=294046#294046
