Anyone have information associated with a proposed FAA AD related to Bombardier-Rotax
GmbH 912 A, 912 F, and 912 S series engines? According to the AOPA, the
proposed AD concerns cracking of the engine case. I assume that the non-certified
912 UL & 912 S should be suspected as well. However, does anyone know what
serial numbers are involved?

It is my understanding that a tear-down is not necessarily required but the run-out
should be checked by either Lockwood, LEAF or CPS.

The gearbox must be completely dismantled and inspected and at least a run out
done on the crank after the gearbox is off. There is a specific procedure. It
does not need to be done by a Service center, but at least a knowledgeable mechanic
with Rotax school behind him.

How big a Warp prop and is it nickled edge? This could be a damaged overload clutch.
