I would check my oil and coolant hoses for kinks. I take it you did an oil purge before the first run? Even if there was no air flow 248F at 2000 for 5 min. is on the high side. My gut feeling is it is something with the two flows above. There are a lot of variables here. Things like type of plane, cowling, prop setup, fluid types ect... You would need to know a whole lot more to diagnose this a little better. -------- Roger Lee Tucson, Az. I can only guess, but upon blowing into the coolant tank I found that I could move air from my blowing into the system, and that came with some coolant movement....when I finished, the coolant level was no longer at the top of the input point, but seemed empty...it took a full liter to refill the system. There had been no leaks. I can only guess that somehow I had air 'trapped' in the system...the thing that fooled me was that the hose from the radiator was reasonably hot, so I assumed there was coolant being moved through the system...perhaps there was, but it wasn't enough. After adding the coolant the system appears fully normal. Prolonged running did not raise the CHT much past 150. thanks for your input. ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 10:34:22 PM PST US Subject: RotaxEngines-List: Re: CHT Temps From: "Roger Lee" Hi John, Glad it was an easy fix. I like those kinds. I just had a feeling it was a fluid issue. Now it's time to have some fun and go fly. :) -------- Roger Lee Tucson, Az.
