I've heard this too, but does anyone know by any chance for how long/what power
setting/ if the engine is reusable afterwards?
Course, my procedure when the CHT's start going up for no reason in flight is to
land ASAP, but I'm just curious about this in case I have to stretch the glide
(and for how much it'll cost me if I and the plane survive the landing)...
Thanks,

Lucien, all, See Line Maintenance Manual section 5-50-00 3.4) for limits and
checks and Heavy Maintenance Manual 72-00-00 3.10 and 5.0 for hardness

"Somewhere" I read that you could operate at 50% power with no coolant.

And the engine will never blow up due to no coolant...but you may warp the
heads. The bottom line is you can fly the plane to the nearest airport
without risking your skin or your airplane in an off field landing.
