I'm running 3 Rotax 503s. We've just recently run out of Ethanol free
fuel here on the BP's newest acquisition...the Gulf Coast.
The last experience we had with Ethanol fuel was a total disaster to
include one engine failure that I barely cleared a tree line on.
Can anyone give me info on any additives that may help dealing with Ethanol
fuel. Currently, I'm using Sta-bil engine additive for nothing else than
to make me feel good. Some people say SeaFoam is good too but others say
nothing will help.
Helpless in BP's Newly Acquired Gulf Coast!

- If you go to the EAA video tip web site, they show how to determine if
gas has 10% alcohol, or even more.- I imagine that the alcohol could be r
emoved the same way, but you would probably have to add an octane booster t
o the remaining gas.- I don't know how you could find out the octane rati
ng of it, but alcohol itself is an efficient octane booster- the remaining
gas might be down in the low 80's.

Depending on the recipe used to make the gas it should be around 87 RON...
Just right for a vintage Rolls. I've been looking for a good octane booster
too. Just to try.
