Are you using the Stabil for marine engines? I've had better success
using it in Florida over the regular Stabil. Also try 100LL if its
allowed in the 503s. All of my engines in Florida (without catalytic
converters) are stored with 100 LL in the fuel system. No problems to
date.

I'm running 3 Rotax 503s. We've just recently run out of Ethanol free
fuel here on the BP's newest acquisition...the Gulf Coast.
The last experience we had with Ethanol fuel was a total disaster to
include one engine failure that I barely cleared a tree line on.
Can anyone give me info on any additives that may help dealing with
Ethanol fuel. Currently, I'm using Sta-bil engine additive for nothing
else than to make me feel good. Some people say SeaFoam is good too but
others say nothing will help.
Helpless in BP's Newly Acquired Gulf Coast!

Be aware that many octane boosters are in fact alcohol or at least contain
it. Sea foam was recommended in my Rotax engine class but upon
investigation I found out it also contains alcohol(don't know how much) I have
been
using Lucas brand octane booster when I have to use old gas(over 3 weeks) in
addition to my nomal Marine Sta-Bil (green color) It does not contain alcohol
and appears to work well. Their other products are very good.
My two cents.

Dick,
Didn't know they made a Marine grade Sta-bil. Thanks for the info. Will
look for it. Things are getting pretty nasty over by Gulf Shores & Perdido.
What a mess!

I am also going to start using the marine Stabil. I have been using the
regular Stabil for years. I put it in my gas as soon as I get it, even
if I
think I=92m going to use the gas right away. I do check the carb bowls
on my
912s and I have not seen any varnishing. Sometimes my gas my be over 3
months old. I have never had any problems.
