Holy cow Roger ! That is about the "cheesest " puller I have seen but if
does the job then thats great. I have one I cut out of 1/4 inch steel sheet
with a plasma cutter and attached it to a small slide hammer. It works great!
Anyway Johann you can buy one from California Power Systems if you want
for about $75. Lockwood and LEAF also have them but I think they are higher.
This of course is if you don't want to make one

This puller works just as good as the most expensive ones and it cost about $10
to make. You can use a slide hammer with it or just get a 2' all thread screw
from Ace Hardware. Put a nut on each end and a 2.5 lb. dumb bell weight on the
long shaft to slide back against your nut. Works like a charm. Slide hammers
are cheap at Harbor Freight.

The spark plug wires screw into each coil. The wires can be replaced.
It may just be the air gap between the pick up coils and the sensor that needs
adjusting. Bad grounds can cause these type of problems. If someone has just rebuilt
the carbs just prior to this that is where I would look. Someone may have
put a part in the wrong way. Yes there are a few parts that can be installed
wrong.
