Barry, I installed a three blade Catto prop on my RV-8A back in 2003. I sol
d the plane last fall after 450 hours. The prop performed
great for me. The only problem with the 3 blade was that it made the cowl h
arder to remove than with a two blade prop.

Subject: RotaxEngines-List: CATTCO PROPS 3 Vs 2
Hello Gaggle:
=C2-
I am looking for some information on CATTCO PROPS.
=C2-
This is their web site:
=C2-
http://www.cattoprops.com/index.html
=C2-
Is anyone using their props?
=C2-
Info needed is:
Three Blade Prop Vs Two Blade Prop.
Is a 54" Pitch CATTCO equivalent to a 62" Pitch Sensinich?
Why is there so much of a difference in pitch call-out between the two?
I say this because a 54" is what was recommended / suggested Vs a 62".
I did some basic calculations and for the same engine and going from a two
blade to a three blade the pitch should be closer to a 60".
I do not want a climb prop - I want a cruse prop.
=C2-
Does anyone have a spread sheet program or a web site for doing calculation
s?
=C2-
=C2-
ANY IDEAS?
=C2-
Thanks Gaggle-

Rick:
Thank you for the post... As you say; is as I figured.
They all play their games to make their common product exclusive.
Thanks Rick,
Barry
