    Roger & Gaggle: TEFLON hoses do not require a fire sleeve for fire protection. But as you mention Roger, a sleeve does help in reducing heat both radiated and received. BUT! One area where a bit of heat shielding goes unnoticed are the metal connections. The metal gets hotter than the hose.
