I bought a oil thermostat from Lockwood and it keeps my oil temp right at around 200f. This was recommended during one of my Lockwood engine courses. Pennzoil makes such a product and it comes in a spray can.(probably need 2 cans) The oil will coat the engine cylinders, valves, carb interior, etc. As I am in Florida I can fly all year BUT my Triumph TR3 sports car is in NC (where I am today). I intend on doing the same procedure to it in a few hours. I will run the engine with the carb filters off and then spray oil mist into each SU carb to kill the engine then leave the car till late spring driving weather when I return to the mountains. Sta-bil should be added to any remaining gasoline(again recommended Rotax proceedure) if you don't drain it. They are not too difficult to install, and it keeps the oil temp up to the minimum of 180 F. Get one, they're foolproof, and necessary if you fly in the cold north!
