Hi dashwood=0A=0AI have been working on a high volt protection system for m
y 912 aircraft =0Aelectrics.--Simply the 2 output wires from the altern
ator to the rectifier are =0Arun through 2 break-contacts of a 12v relay.
--The relay is powered from the =0Aaircraft batt via a fuse and MCB, sh
ould the voltage rise on the rail above 16v =0Aa 'crowbar' fires releasing
the relay and disconnecting the alternator, then the =0Aelectrical system i
s running on the on board batt.--=0A=0AThe only problem I have is tryin
g to get hold of a male / female (plug and =0Asocket) to-patch out and pi
ck up the alternator supply at the regulator plug, =0Aany ideas where to ob
tain one from or has someone already supplying such a =0Asystem.=0A=0ABrian

l.com>=0A=0Athanks. i was not able to find the pages i needed before. i thi
nk the fuse i =0Ahave blown- is the 25A- after the reg terminals. the c
apacitor is in place and =0Ashould have protected the reg as/per manual. wh
en you close 16(master) then 19 =0Arelay pulls on the battery supply to fus
e bus. i have an endurance fuse bus as =0Awell. somehow an alternator disco
nnect- that draws minimal power only from =0Abattery to supply minimal fl
ight requirements. i assume to guard against over =0Avoltage (failed reg).
i don't see this in the diagram. not sure if master has to =0Abe shut off f
irst to stop feedback( blowing the 25A fuse). i just want to =0Aunderstand
what is happening so i can fix or not have happen in flight again.=0A=0A---
