In keeping with making everything simple - KISS - I too opted for the
Carbmate.
My experience with the hookup. Looked at the possibility of removing the
metric plugs on each side of the manifold and going that route. Problem was
that I couldn't find a source for the "metric nipples" to hook up to each
feed from the unit. Also wasn't overjoyed with trying to "crimp off" the
heavy hose on one end of the balance tube thinking how would one know if
you were truly isolated etc.
So I went off to my local *National Aviation Parts Association* (NAPA) and
looked over the plastic fittings board. Found two fittings that would fit
into the ID of the crossover hose (I'm sure it's metric) Bought two clamps
and found a short piece of hose that would let me hook up the other end -
with me so far..
Hooked it all up and found that I was almost right on - the led in the most
sensitive setting was "one out to the right". So decided that after the
cables stretch in use and seat I'd get back to fine tune it all. In ten
hours all seems smoooooth at all RPMS.
My question - if the LED lite is one out to the right, right hose on right
carb side, which carb and which way would you adjust the cable mounting to
center the LED and get a smiley face??? Longer or shorter...which side??
As always a long way to ask a question but hope I answered a couple as well.
