Subject: | Re: TLR46a TCU Program |
Update
Used conventional PC with straight cable to the TCU - no problems. Am retrieving
data from the TCU. throttle position sensor fine 1.2% to 115% as per book.
The reason I wanted to look at this data is that I can only obtain 33PSI manifold
pressure at 5700 because the wastegate is opening towards maximum throttle.
This is the reason I cannot obtain the required manifold pressure.
I am going to run a log and copy this and the retrieved data and sent it to our
Rotax distributor. I have been in contact with him to review this problem.
I made the following observation with the engine NOT running, stats off the program
and confirmed by visual observation . At 0 position throttle wastegate is
100%, as you move the throttle up to 115% the wastegate moves to 75%.
Is this behaviour that others with a 914 have noticed. I appreciate that with
the engine not running the TCU may require other inputs but as a casual observation
I would have thought that the wastegate would not have moved.
I am going to sit the old PC in the rear seats and run the engine up and see what
happens in operational mode.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers Peter

PS Now need to look for an acceptable USB to serial cable that works with this
program, anyone any ideas.
