I have used the Harbor Freight SS ties for a few years now to attach my exhaust wrap. They work great and have never failed. Dick Maddux 912UL

    From: "Goodone" <goodone41@verizon.net>
Any tricks or suggestions on how to remove and replace the 17mm coolant hose on the bottom of a Rotax 912? By taking off the coolant flange attached to the head on the top of the engine it has made the top job a bit easier. Any good methods for the bottom hose replacement? Hi Brian (STOL 701 80hrs 912 80hp) The new Harbor Freight I stopped by is located in Commack in the old Linens and Things. It is on 454 just west of Sunken Meadow Parkway on the south side (just East of Target). In other words East of the 454 intersection with 25 in Commack. It's closer to me and easier to get to than the Bayshore location. Ron Parigoris Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=362495#362495

I've done a lot of 5 year rubber hose replacements and you shouldn't have to remove any coolant fittings. I can usually pull the hoses off and slide them back on with either a constant compression clamp or a screw clamp. I don't usually have to remove any fuel fittings. If you cause the coolant 90 degree fittings on the top or the bottom of the engine to come loose (swivel back and forth) then you will need to pull that fitting and unscrew it then re-apply some Loctite 648 and put the fitting back in place and let it sit overnight in the aligned position that you will need. -------- Roger Lee Tucson, Az.
