I have 100LL, 93/93 Autogas (10% ethanol), and 91 Mogas (no ethanol) in my area.
Please rate from best to worst for use in the Rotax 914.

91 no ethanol, 91 or higher with ethanol, 100LL is not a good choice at all because
of the extra maint. Cost and leading it causes. Either of the first two
are good choices and the Rotax engine doesn't care about the ethanol, but make
sure your fuel tanks are okay with ethanol.

Subject: | 377 snow mobile engines |
Hi guys and ladies, I am building a KOLB Firefly and researching what to do for
asn engine and with the rotax 447 going for up to $5000 I have been poking around
and I find that I can buy running some with electruic start rotax 377 engines
and whole snow mobiles for $2-4hundred dollars ! My question is are these
the same 377s we ultralightists used on our aircraft? Do they have the same bolt
holes to bolt on gear boxes etc.?Are they the same cases.?I dont know anything
about the 377 as Instarted out in 1990 and bought a new 503 for $3200Sence
the are not making anything samaller than the 5t82 anymore these engines are
going to get more expensive. Thank you all in advance for any help or info you
can provide. Chris

914
Roger,
Would you comment on 80 HP UL fuel. I have always used hi test mogas, 91
octane,( except when cross country flying and have to use 100LL).
Would I be better off with a lower octane rated fuel?

The UL can use 87 octane all day long. no need for 91 oct. with the UL because
it is only 9:1 compression ratio
