Subject: | Rotax 912 Ducati Module |
Has anyone taken apart an Electronic Module? Does anyone have a ducati part number?
In my searches, I found very similar boxes from other applications (Motorcycle,
Snowmobile, etc).
Mine has one wire that is cracked. The splice will have to be made really close
to the box. It is the power wire. I don't anticipate having any problems with
the splice, but if it happens again, there will be no room left to splice.
I googled for anyone selling a used one, but couldn't find any. New, they list
for $925.00.
thanks.
JohnE

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I use an alternator. Good to know that
the built in generator is weak though.
In my case, I'm talking about the other Ducati part of the system, the Electronic
Module which controls the ignition. The two black boxes part number 965358.
I had a pro fix the cracked wire for me. This way, if it were to crack again,
there is still enough wire left. :-)
It was intermittent which for me at least made diagnosis of the problem much more
difficult.
