I have synced the carbs and the engine runs great and idles well but sometimes just won' t start without the other ignition being on. I'm glad you'ree having better service and grinnin.=0A=0A-=0ASTAN 2=0A=0A=0A___________________________ _____=0A From: RotaxEngines-List Digest Server =0ATo: RotaxEngines-List Digest List =0ASent: Sunday, July 1, 2012 1:59 AM=0ASubject: RotaxEngines-List Digest: 1 Msgs - 06/30/12=0A =0A*=0A=0A============ ==============0A- Online Versions of Today's L ist Digest Archive=0A================== ========0A=0AToday's complete RotaxEngines-List Digest can al so be found in either of the =0Atwo Web Links listed below.- The .html fi le includes the Digest formatted =0Ain HTML for viewing with a web browser and features Hyperlinked Indexes =0Aand Message Navigation.- The .txt fil e includes the plain ASCII version =0Aof the RotaxEngines-List Digest and c an be viewed with a generic text editor =0Asuch as Notepad or with a web br owser. =0A=0AHTML Version:=0A=0A- - http://www.matronics.com/digest/dig estview.php?Style=82701&View=html&Chapter 12-06-30&Archive=RotaxE ngines=0A=0AText Version:=0A=0A- - http://www.matronics.com/digest/dige stview.php?Style=82701&View=txt&Chapter 12-06-30&Archive=RotaxEng ines=0A=0A=0A==================== ====0A- EMail Version of Today's List Digest Archive=0A=== =====================0A=0A=0A- - - - - ---------------------------------------------------------- =0A- - - - - - - - - - - - - RotaxEngines-List D igest Archive=0A- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ---=0A- - - - - - - - - - Total Messa ges Posted Sat 06/30/12: 1=0A- - - - - ------------------------- ---------------------------------=0A=0A=0AToday's Message Index:=0A-------- --------------=0A=0A- - 1. 09:26 AM - Soft Start Module on 912ULS- ( Philip Smith)=0A=0A=0A=0A________________________________- Message 1- _ ____________________________________=0A=0A=0ATime: 09:26:27 AM PST US=0ASub ject: RotaxEngines-List: Soft Start Module on 912ULS=0AFrom: Philip Smith < madriver42@gmail.com>=0A=0ATo answer Peter Thomson's question about the Rot ax "Soft Start Modules"=0Aavailable from Rotax.=0A=0AI was advised by Roger Lee *and* Rotax (LEAF) in my particular situation=0Athat I would probably be as happy with less cost by going to the *Bully=0AHawk / Con Air Soft Sta rt Module* as shown on the Rotax product videos.=0A=0AI installed the "Soft Start" on my Rotax 912ULS early this spring and have=0Abeen impressed not only with the cold weather starts but now with starts at=0A90 degrees F plu s OAT.- As an addendum, it took me longer to remove the=0Acowl than to in stall the module.=0A=0AThe guys at LEAF and / or Roger Lee can explain why it works by adjusting=0Athe timing for start.- If you don't understand th is give them a call...they=0Awere more than happy to answer my questions. If that works reliably re-install the SSM but don't connect the red wire so that it's not activated when you activate the starter and see if it starts reliably then. At least then you would know if the problem is caused by the presence of the SSM (active or not) or whether it's some other part of the ignition system that's causing the problem.
