The engine was built in 1998 and it has been running since 2000. I bought the plane 3 years ago. I have been told that this crankcase fretting sometimes happens in the early model engines, such as mine. I have also heard that Rotax will give consideraion during the overhaul to fix this. I am going to phone LEAF within the week and see what happens. Hi Damien "I have been told that this crankcase fretting sometimes happens in the early model engines, such as mine." I can understand that fretting on the crankcase can cause oil leaking, but in your case did it cause you to not be able to turn your prop? Thx. Ron Parigoris
