You would not want to damage the threads. I have never seen threads damaged taking
it out. If you hand thread it back in it won't get stripped. It is in the
case side and not the gearbox. There is no crush washer and is only a metal to
metal seal. So if you were to screw the threads up it would be very expensive
to fix.

If they have actually failed then they are gone and not fixable. Toss them and
move on with the new modules. I would be absolutely shocked if both failed they
are pretty reliable. I have seen one fail, but not both at once.

Hi All.
The Magnetic plug, mine is the old stile Allen Key type, the new ones have an Hexagonal
head so you can use a socket,
The cost is $63 in the UK and $52 in the States.
So if i want a new one it going to cost me 40, plus P/P
Do the magnets get weak over time, and is there a way of re magnetizing them.??
Alan

Alan,
You'll never have to replace it because of loss of magnetism.
Take care when tightening and you'll never have to replace it again.

Hi Alan,
It probably isn't an Allen wrench for the mag plug on your old one. It is a #40
Torx. If you use an Allen you'll strip it out.

My 582 gray runs normal up to about 5700 rpms. When I try to go to full throttle,
it starts cutting out.
I've replaced all fuel lines and filters and rebuilt the fuel pump. The problem
occurs with the elec. pump on too.
The carb floats seem to working properly and needles look good.
Any ideas on what to check next?
This started happening after somewhat of a hard pull-up to 70 degs. or so, then
leveling off.
The motor is in pusher config. in a Kolb Mark III.
I'm stumped. SOS
