Hi Cristal The plugs looked good but I replaced them anyway. Compression is also good in both cylinders. You sold your Kolb?! Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=383494#383494

Yes, it was a sad day, but I didn't have the money or time right now to put into her. She got a new owner who was happy to start sprucing her up. My next Kolb will probably be a Mark III. A couple other things to check on your engine is the choke piston (one time I had a deteriorated seal that was giving me problems) and you could also check the needle clip in your carb and the o-ring. http://www.ultralightnews.ca/bing/needleclipupdate.htm http://www.ultralightnews.ca/bing/bingcarbdisassemblytip.html -------- Cristal Waters Kolb Mark II Twinstar Rotax 503 DCSI Sept 2007 - sold Sept 2012 Private Pilot Aug 2008 ELSA Repairman for N193Y April 2008 Rotax 2 stroke maintenance April 2009 Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=383517#383517

How about a coffee filter?- Might be a better filter than a paper towel. =0A=0A=0A=0A=0A________________________________=0AFrom: Roger Lee <ssadiver 1@yahoo.com>=0ATo: rotaxengines-list@matronics.com=0ASent: Tue, September 1 8, 2012 11:07:30 PM=0ASubject: RotaxEngines-List: Re: Rotax 914 Oil Change .com>=0A=0AHi Alan,=0A=0ASounds like all was okay.=0A=0AIf you really want to see what's in an oil filter. Cut the paper element out. =0APut it in a s mall jar with about 1" of fuel and shake it up fairly well. The =0Aremove t he filter and look at it. It will most likely be very clean as the fuel =0A washed it off. Now pour the fuel and oil residue through a white paper towe l. =0AWhat ever was on that filter element will now stand out like a sore t humb =0Aagainst the white paper towel surface. Usually I only see a few car bon flecks =0Aand once in a while a chrome colored fleck.=0A=0A--------=0AR oger Lee=0ATucson, Az.=0ALight Sport Repairman - Maintenance Rated=0ARotax Repair Center - Heavy Maint.
